The SMPTE standard. Your eye comfortably takes in 30° — the basis of the ÷1.6 formula used by designers worldwide.

Eye-Level Placement
TV center should sit 42–48 inches from the floor when seated. Too high causes neck strain and ruins room proportion.

Two-Thirds Rule
TV width should never exceed ⅔ of the wall or furniture it sits on. A dominant TV destroys room balance.

4K Exception
4K resolution lets you sit 1.5× closer without pixel visibility — you can safely step up one full size category.
